Derek Daly

An award-winning ESPN television broadcaster, Derek Daly is best known as a former World Champion Race Car driver

If you think the Speed of doing business will continue to get faster in the next decade....you need to hear Derek Daly

If you value Speed as a core competency within your organisation....you need to hear and see Derek Daly

If you want to build a High Performing Team (HPT) that values Speed as a core competancy for the next decade....you need to understand Derek Daly's "HPT model"

Although Derek Daly is an award-winning ESPN television broadcaster, he is best known as a former World Champion Race Car driver. He is currently president of a management and promotions company, as well as an internationally known speaker. He worked as a laborer in Australian iron ore mines before living his dream by traveling the world as a professional race car driver. It was while living this dream, however, that he experienced the nightmare of almost losing his life in a 200mph crash in 1984. Derek has conducted original research with some of the greatest names in the sport of auto racing to determine why some athletes fail to reach their true potential, and why others become so successful. Because this research parallels business and life so closely, he uses his findings as the basis of his presentations. He is an energetic and versatile performer who uses fascinating details about racing and simple analogies to make his points. The Irish are famous for their wit and humor, and Derek Daly holds true to that tradition.

“We were delighted to have you join us for a post-race dinner and discussion at this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona. Thank you again for your kind words and deeds on our behalf and we look forward to seeing you, not only on Sundays around the dial, but in person at next year’s Rolex 24.”

Keynote Topics:

The Art of the Wheel: Winning through Faster TeamworkDerek walks the audience through his High Performance Team "model", using sports analogies in a way seldom seen before. Corporate operations who understand that the speed of doing business will continue to get faster in the next decade will gain the most value from understanding his Speed and Flawless execution "model". He shows what happens when teams of people are truly aligned and efficient. At the Indy 500, there are so many variables to be covered to beat the competition at the highest levels, that unless the collective strengths of a team of people work in harmony together, no matter how good your driver (or leader) is, sustained success is impossible.   The same principles apply to the "Corporate 500" business race that we are in every day. He uses powerful real life motor sports analogies from the world of Formula One, the Indy 500 and NASCAR .

Difficulty is your Gift: Thriving in a High Performance EnvironmentThis can highlight personal development. If your thoughts create your emotions which in turn creates your behavior, what might it be like to understand how great High Performing teams think and operate. Derek describes what the true high performance environment of winning the Indy 500 is like. He walks people through real life sports analogies to help  them discover how a true high performance team works in the "corporate 500 race" that we are in every day. If you consider difficulty to be your gift, you are ready to thrive in a high performance environment.

Remove the Speed bumps to Success: How Fast can you get Fast Asks the question; "has the speed of doing business increased in the past 10 years?...Yes. What might happen in the next decade?...probably going to get faster. Then the most important question gets asked; How Fast can you Get Fast? Derek walks people down the path of discovery, revealing why Speed will be the competitive tool of the successful corporations of the future. Speed has two key elements - having the right people in the right places doing the right things...but more importantly, speed of operations will be about removing the speed bumps that slow you down.  Derek uses powerful real life motor sports analogies from the world of Formula One, the Indy 500 and NASCAR and shows how to get to Victory Circle.

Turning Sweat into Champagne: A Champions attitude when Embracing Change  The competition on the "corporate race track" is so fierce and change happens so quickly, that unless your team understands why embracing change is so vital, they will be continue to sweat through the details without tasting the champagne of victory. Derek walks people through real life sports analogies to help them discover what the Attitude of a Champion is and shows that "a better you will make a better us". Uses powerful real life motor sports analogies from the world of Formula One, the Indy 500 and NASCAR as he shows you the "model" for the High performing teams of the future
